Application and Advantages of Win Tone Corn Degerminators in Corn Alcohol Plants
Date: 2026-08-21
In corn alcohol production, corn degerminators are adopted to raise alcohol yield and optimize fermentation processes. What kind of degerminating equipment should alcohol producers choose? What concrete improvements can degerminating bring to alcohol manufacturing?
Core machines for degerminating in corn alcohol facilities include corn degerminators and corn germ separators. The standard process flow follows: corn degerming → grading → germ separation.
Take Win Tone TTPD series corn degerminators as an example. This equipment has been successfully deployed in distilleries across Henan, Shanxi, Sichuan, Shandong, Heilongjiang and other regions in China. It works through centrifugal impact from six-segment beaters. Low-speed beating and rubbing breaks corn grits and separates germs gently. This design greatly reduces broken germ rate while boosting whole germ rate and germ extraction rate. It serves as an ideal degerming machine for alcohol plants, corn flour mills and feed factories.

Key Technical Parameters:
A.) Capacity: 2–5 t/h, suitable for large and medium-sized alcohol manufacturers for mass production.
B.) Core strengths: Ultra-low broken germ rate; whole germ rate and germ extraction rate reach 7%–8%; germ purity up to 98%.
C.) Applicable materials: All types of corn (including hard flint corn), compatible with full dry and semi-dry degerming processes for alcohol production.
D.) Supporting equipment: Can connect smoothly with gravity corn germ separators, grading sifters and other units to build an integrated high-efficiency line for degerming, sifting and germ sorting.

Degerming delivers remarkable improvements for alcohol production. More than 70% of total oil in corn concentrates in the germ. During fermentation, this oil easily increases mash acidity and creates off-flavors. Besides, corn germs strongly adsorb fermentation liquid and reduce alcohol yield. Removing germs via degerming cuts fusel oil content significantly and stabilizes fermentation, thus lifting alcohol yield. Degermed corn grits also feature higher starch utilization. Producers gain more alcohol output and lower overall operational costs.
